Assistance with Personal Activities supports a participant to complete everyday self-care and daily living tasks. Supports are provided in a respectful, person-centred, and strengths-based way to promote independence, dignity, and choice.
This support may be provided in the participant’s home or in the community and can include prompting, supervision, physical assistance, or full support, depending on the participant’s assessed needs.
Assist Travel / Transport supports a participant to travel safely and access the community. Support may include accompaniment, supervision, physical assistance, and transport-related support to enable participation in daily activities and NDIS goals.
This support helps participants attend appointments, community activities, education, employment, and social participation, while promoting independence and confidence when travelling.
Development-Life Skills supports assist a participant to develop, learn, and strengthen everyday life skills to increase independence, confidence, and participation in daily and community life. These supports are provided where a participant requires assistance.
The focus is on building capacity, not doing tasks for the participant, and is tailored to the participant’s NDIS goals, abilities, and learning style.
Household Tasks supports assist a participant to maintain a safe, clean, and functional home environment. Support is provided in a person-centred and respectful manner, with a focus on maintaining wellbeing and building independence where possible.
These supports help participants to live safely at home and support their daily living and NDIS goals.
Community Participation and Social Interaction supports assist a participant to engage in community, social, and recreational activities. These supports aim to build confidence, independence, social skills, and meaningful connections, in line with the participant’s NDIS goals.
Support is provided in a person-centred and strengths-based manner, promoting choice, inclusion, and active participation in community life.
Implementing a Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) involves providing supports to safely and consistently implement strategies outlined in a participant’s approved Behaviour Support Plan, developed by a NDIS-registered Behaviour Support Practitioner. These supports aim to reduce behaviours of concern, improve quality of life, and support the participant’s rights, dignity, and wellbeing.
Support workers follow positive behaviour support strategies, focusing on prevention, skill development, and environmental adjustments, while ensuring all practices are least restrictive and compliant with NDIS requirements.

SIL is focused on the supports a person needs in their home (not rent or living costs) and is delivered in a shared or individual living arrangement, based on the participant’s assessed needs.
Group / Centre-Based Activities support participants to engage in structured group programs delivered in a centre or community setting. These activities are designed to promote social interaction, skill development, independence, and community participation, in line with the participant’s NDIS goals.
Supports are provided in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment, with assistance adjusted to each participant’s individual needs.
Respite Support provides short-term care and support for a participant, giving their family or informal carers a break, while ensuring the participant continues to receive safe, appropriate, and person-centred support. Respite can be delivered in the participant’s home, the community, or a short-term accommodation setting, depending on the participant’s needs and NDIS plan.
Respite supports focus on the participant’s wellbeing, routine, and independence, while offering carers time to rest or attend to other responsibilities.
